Most people don't come here because life is perfect. They come because they're smart, capable, and still stuck with patterns their mind alone can't shift: anxious loops, shutdowns, fog, or a body that won't fully relax. Deep Brain Training focuses on the brain and nervous system underneath those symptoms, so change doesn't depend on willpower alone.
When your system lives in "always on," even small stressors can feel overwhelming. We help calm overactive networks so you can respond instead of react.
If attention, task completion, or mental flexibility are a struggle, targeted training can help the brain sustain focus, switch gears, and recover from distractions more smoothly.
Light, broken, or restless sleep keeps the nervous system on edge. We work toward deeper, more restorative sleep so your brain and body can actually reset at night.
Irritability, flatness, shutdown, or "crash after push" patterns often reflect how the brain is managing energy and emotion. We aim to create more stability and capacity, not just fewer blow-ups.
Old shock and threat responses can keep the nervous system scanning for danger, even when life is safer now. Our work supports both safety in the present and capacity for connection.
Post-concussion brains can feel slower, foggier, or more fragile. Brain-based training can support recovery by helping rhythms and networks organize more efficiently.

How It Works
We don't start by guessing. We start by listening to your story and measuring how your brain and nervous system are actually operating. From there we design a plan that targets the specific patterns keeping you stuck, and we track change over time so you can see what's shifting.
We begin with a thorough intake and a brain-based assessment. That can include brain mapping (qEEG), symptom questionnaires, and baseline measures like sleep, energy, and stress levels. The goal isn't to label you; it's to see which networks are overworking, under-responding, or out of sync, so we have a clear starting point instead of trial and error.
Using what we learn, we design a neurofeedback plan that gives your brain real-time information about its own activity. Over time, this helps it practice calmer, more efficient patterns. We may also incorporate heart-rate variability (HRV) feedback and simple at-home practices to support regulation between sessions. Progress is tracked through both your lived experience and objective trends, not just "Did this week feel better?"
Training is only useful if it shows up in real life. We regularly review how your system is responding, in sleep, focus, mood, stress recovery, and relationships, and adjust as needed. Integration sessions help your nervous system stabilize new patterns, so changes feel less like a temporary boost and more like a new baseline.

There are many ways to work on yourself. Deep Brain Training is built for people who want their care to be both deeply human and grounded in how the brain and nervous system actually function.
Nervous-system first. Instead of asking you to just "try harder," we focus on the brain and body patterns that make change difficult in the first place.
Data and story together. Your experience matters as much as your brain map or HRV trend. We use both to guide decisions instead of relying on numbers or feelings alone.
Personalized, not generic. Protocols are tailored to your patterns, your capacities, and your goals, not a one-size-fits-all template.
Structured, not endless. We work in defined phases with regular check-ins, so you know where you are in the process and what we're aiming for.
Collaborative by design. You're not a passive patient. We check in often, invite your feedback, and adjust the plan to match your reality.

Real Outcomes
Biofeedback at the Asheville Brain Training center changed my life. I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder, PTSD & depression, and after only 15 out of the 30 sessions, my mental wellness has done a 180.
Our 6-year-old was not learning like other kids in school. The twice-weekly sessions have made a huge impact. His writing improved, he learned faster and retained longer. We are astounded by the progress and highly recommend Dr. JoJo!
So thankful for Dr. Yonce and his team for helping our son who was suffering from post-concussion syndrome. The neurofeedback treatments got rid of the brain fog, returned to him the ability to concentrate and think again, and put the life and light back in his eyes.
Athletes & Elite Performers
Even peak training can't outrun a misfiring brain or dysregulated nervous system. Deep Brain Training uses qEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback to identify and retrain the exact networks driving focus, reaction time, recovery, and resilience.
Train attention networks and lower neural noise so split-second decisions land.
Regulate the nervous system. Deeper sleep, faster bounce-back between games and seasons.
Identify and re-establish healthy brainwave patterns after head impacts. Drug-free, measurable.
Used by Olympic athletes · U.S. military · Top NCAA & professional sports programs
Common Questions
Honest answers to the questions that come up most often, about the process, the science, and what to expect.
Neurofeedback is a non-invasive brain training technique that uses real-time EEG feedback to help the brain regulate itself more effectively. Sensors placed on the scalp measure brainwave activity, and the brain receives immediate feedback through audio or visual cues, gradually learning to shift toward healthier patterns. It is medication-free, FDA-cleared, and safe for both children and adults.
qEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) brain mapping records and mathematically analyzes the electrical activity of the brain across 19 sites using a sensor cap. The resulting brain map identifies areas of dysregulation (excess or deficit in specific brainwave frequencies) which guides your personalized neurofeedback protocol. Think of it as a detailed roadmap of how your brain is currently functioning.
Neurofeedback has been shown to help those with ADHD, anxiety, PTSD and trauma, depression, sleep disorders, TBI and concussion recovery, migraines, and can support peak cognitive performance. Because it works at the neurological level, it addresses the root patterns behind symptoms rather than masking them with medication.
Most clients notice meaningful changes within 10 to 20 sessions, with a typical full protocol of 30 to 40 sessions depending on the condition and personal goals. Sessions are typically 45 to 60 minutes. Your personalized plan is designed based on your qEEG brain map results and may be adjusted as your brain progresses.
Yes. Neurofeedback is non-invasive, medication-free, and considered safe for children and adults. It uses FDA-cleared equipment that simply reads and responds to your brain's own electrical activity. There are no drugs, no radiation, and no significant side effects. It is one of the safest approaches to addressing neurological and emotional health concerns.
Your free 20-minute Discovery Call is a phone call, easy and low-friction. After that, paid sessions including intake, qEEG brain map reviews, neurofeedback coaching, and report consultations are delivered remotely via Zoom so we can share screens and visuals together.
Medication manages ADHD symptoms while it is being taken, but effects stop when medication stops. Neurofeedback trains the brain to self-regulate at the neurological level, and research shows benefits often persist after the training protocol is complete. Neurofeedback is medication-free and has no pharmaceutical side effects.
A Gentle First Step
A 20-minute Discovery Call gives us space to talk about what you're carrying, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping might change. We'll look together at whether Deep Brain Training seems like a good match for your nervous system and your season of life. If it isn't, I'll say that plainly and, whenever possible, point you toward other options instead.
