The Process

How Deep Brain Training works

A brain-based way to change nervous-system patterns

Deep Brain Training's Functional Neuro Assessments and Programs are built on a simple idea: when your brain and nervous system get better feedback, they can learn new patterns. Instead of asking you to push harder through anxiety, fog, or burnout, we look at how your brain is actually operating, and then we help it practice more regulated, efficient ways of responding. Neurofeedback is one of the neurotherapies we draw on, not the whole story.

We organize this into three phases: Map, Retrain, and Integrate.

Understand your starting point

Every brain is different. Before we change anything, we want to understand how yours is coping with life right now.

Depending on your situation, the mapping phase can include:

  • →

A detailed history of symptoms, strengths, and stressors

  • →

Brain mapping (qEEG) to identify overactive, underactive, or poorly coordinated networks

  • →

Baseline measures of sleep, energy, focus, and mood

  • →

Optional nervous-system markers such as heart-rate variability trends

This isn't about putting you in a box. It's about seeing which circuits are doing too much, which are doing too little, and where the system seems stuck. That gives us a more precise starting point than trial-and-error approaches.

Practice new brain and nervous-system patterns

Once we have a clearer picture, we design a training plan that gives your brain real-time feedback on what it's doing, so it can start adjusting itself.

Key tools can include:

  • →

Neurofeedback: sensors read your brain's activity while you watch or listen to feedback that shifts as your brainwaves change. Over time, your brain learns to spend more time in patterns linked to calm focus and restorative states.

  • →

Nervous-system practices: depending on your needs, we may introduce simple breath, body, or awareness tools to support regulation between sessions.

  • →

HRV-informed tracking: when appropriate, we look at how your nervous system is recovering from stress over days and weeks, not just how you feel in a single session.

Throughout this phase, we check in on both subjective and objective changes: sleep, focus, reactivity, energy, and your sense of capacity in daily life.

If you're curious whether neurofeedback and nervous-system training could fit your situation, book a Discovery Call and we'll explore it together.

Stabilize gains in real life

The goal isn't just to feel better in the office. It's to have a nervous system that functions differently in your actual life.

In the integration phase we:

  • →

Notice where new patterns are showing up: better sleep, less reactivity, clearer focus, faster recovery after stress

  • →

Adjust training based on what's working and what isn't

  • →

Support you in translating gains into relationships, work, creativity, and play

  • →

Pace the process so your system has time to consolidate change

Integration is where brain-based training and lived experience meet. We want change that holds when life gets busy, not just when things are quiet.

Realistic Expectations

How long does this process take?

Every nervous system learns at its own pace. Some people notice meaningful shifts within a few weeks; others need a longer runway, especially after years of chronic stress, trauma, or concussion.

What you can expect:

  • →

A clear plan for the first phase of work

  • →

Regular check-ins to review progress and adjust course

  • →

Honest conversations about what we're seeing, both in your experience and in your data

We don't promise instant fixes. We do commit to an attentive, collaborative process aimed at sustainable change.

Is This Right for You?

Is Deep Brain Training a fit for me?

DBT may be a good fit if:

  • →

You've tried talk therapy, coaching, or self-help and still feel your system won't fully reset

  • →

Symptoms like anxiety, fog, irritability, or shutdown keep cycling back

  • →

You're open to a process that includes both technology and human connection

  • →

You'd like your care to be grounded in how your brain and nervous system actually function

If you're not sure, that's normal. The next step isn't to decide everything; it's simply to have a conversation.

Start with a Conversation

A conversation is the easiest place to begin

A Discovery Call is the easiest way to talk through what you're experiencing, what you've already tried, and whether this brain-based approach feels like a good next step for you.

No pressure, just a thoughtful conversation about fit.
