About
Meet Dr. JoJo Yonce
I work with people whose brains and nervous systems haven't responded well to quick fixes, surface-level advice, or being told to just push through. My goal is to help you understand what your system is doing, why it may be doing it, and how we can work with it more skillfully and compassionately.
Philosophy
My approach is both human and brain-based
I believe symptoms make sense in context.
Anxiety, shutdown, brain fog, poor sleep, irritability, and overwhelm are not random character flaws. They are often signs that a brain and nervous system have adapted to stress, overload, injury, or long periods of trying to cope without enough support.
That's why my work is not about forcing change through pressure or performance. It's about helping your system receive better information, practice steadier patterns, and regain flexibility over time.
What Drives This
Why I do this work
I've spent years walking with people who are smart, capable, and deeply motivated, but still feel trapped in patterns they cannot think their way out of.
Many of the people I work with have already tried a lot. They've read the books, done the therapy, pushed through the fatigue, managed the symptoms, and blamed themselves when things still didn't shift.
What matters to me is creating a space where those struggles are taken seriously, where the brain and nervous system are part of the conversation, and where change can begin from a place of curiosity rather than shame.
The Working Relationship
How I work
My style is collaborative, attentive, and grounded.
I want to understand not only your symptoms, but your patterns, your goals, your capacities, and the context your nervous system has been living in. From there, we can look at tools like brain mapping, neurofeedback, and other nervous-system-informed approaches in a way that feels thoughtful rather than formulaic.
I'm less interested in fitting you into a box than in helping us see what your system actually needs.
- →
We start with careful listening and assessment
- →
We look for patterns rather than blame
- →
We use both lived experience and measurable data
- →
We adjust the process as we learn what actually helps
Training & Trust

I want you to feel both personally understood and professionally well cared for.

Is This a Fit?
Who tends to work well with me
This work may be a strong fit if you are looking for more than symptom management alone.
You may resonate with this approach if:
- →
You want to understand your brain and nervous system more clearly
- →
You've tried other things and still feel stuck
- →
You want care that is thoughtful, personalized, and not rushed
- →
You're open to a process that includes both technology and relationship
- →
You want change that feels sustainable, not forced
If you're unsure, that's okay. You do not need certainty before starting a conversation.
Start with a Conversation
A conversation is the easiest place to begin
A 20-Minute Discovery Call is the easiest way to see whether this feels like the right fit. We can talk about what's been hard, what you've already tried, and whether Deep Brain Training seems like the right next step.
